This course challenges students to think about Israel, Zionism,and
the Jewish world. Each week, participants will explore certain aspects
of Zionist thought and its global impact. After examining the basic
premises of classic Zionism and seeing how and if it is relevant to Israel
today, participants will examine the situation of the Jewish people in
various Diaspora countries. Students will then concentrate on the future
of Israel and the challenges and issues that confront the Jewish state.
